Aromatherapy in a few words

Essential oils come from aromatic plants, which offer different parts usable for their extraction, such as leaves, seeds, stems and even roots.

Each essential oil has its own unique composition, containing many active elements, sometimes even several hundred, which give it various therapeutic properties. Depending on the type of essential oil used, the effects can be stimulating, soothing, decongestant or analgesic.

Contrary to popular belief, essential oils are not greasy because they contain no fat. They are rather volatile and extremely concentrated. It is important to note that some of them can be toxic if ingested or applied directly to the skin without prior dilution.

L'aromathérapie peut être utilisée :

  • Externally – Essential oils can be mixed with massage oil, cream or ointment and applied directly to the skin for therapeutic effect.

  • By air – Using a diffuser with a few drops of essential oils. The active molecules will spread in the ambient air and stimulate the olfactory receptors of the nose.

  • Internally: It is possible to combine essential oils with foods (on bread, in a drink, on a spoon of honey, etc.), then they can be consumed.
